Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.
Wart sizes are different. The formations can be the size of a peg needle and can reach the size of a ruble coin.
The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted through direct contact or through household items used by sick and healthy persons at the same time.
Typically, such growths cause psychological distress, as often the sites of their localization are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies or hardware procedures.
Varieties of warts
- ordinary (simple) - gray-brown knots of a round shape with a rough surface. These warts usually appear on the hands, face and scalp. Widespread in both children and adults. Simple warts do not cause pain, but are quite aesthetically unpleasant, as they can form entire colonies of benign tumor-like formations;
- plantar warts - occur, as their name implies, on the surface of the foot. In appearance, they resemble corn, consisting of filiform papillae surrounded by horny layers. Reasons why plantar warts appear include the constant pressure of the shoe and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the sole area. During walking, such formations give painful emotions and need adequate treatment;
- Flat warts are small nodules that barely protrude above the surface of the skin. They are yellow or flesh in color and are most often seen in young people. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are absolutely painless;
- venereal warts (warts) - they get their name from the fact that they are transmitted during sexual intercourse and affect, respectively, the external genitalia.
The main reason for the appearance of warts in humans is a viral skin lesion. The pathogen is transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with a virus carrier or through household items. In addition, skin sweating, minor injuries, burns and some other factors can contribute to the disease. Thus, for example, plantar warts are easy to catch when visiting the pool or shower in the gym.
Treatment of warts
Currently, methods of combating warts are usually divided into medical and surgical. The first include the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, the application of destructive chemicals. All such actions have a relatively low efficiency and can help only in the event of the appearance of single formations, and even then in the earliest stages. For this reason, modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which, in turn, are divided into:
- surgical;
- cryodestruction methods;
- radio wave surgery;
- operations performed with the help of laser technology.
The first two methods are characterized by a painful operation and a long recovery period. In addition, if not used properly, they can lead to scarring and wart reappearance. Radio and laser wave surgery overcome these shortcomings and offer patients a quick, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, feet and other parts of the body.
Warts - popular treatment
People have a variety of recipes to get rid of unpleasant skin growths. Here are the most popular of them:
- Plantar warts are easily removed by applying to them a cake made from a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and wheat flour. Apply a small amount of this test on the wart and fix it with a plaster or bandage. The bandage is removed after 2-3 hours. If it is not removed, then the wart removal procedure is repeated again. Also note that small, painful pits will appear instead of fallen formations. An ointment bandage is applied over them, which is held until the wounds are completely healed;
- warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of Kalanchoe pinnate leaves. Combine them with the warts and bandage with a bandage. After 3-4 procedures, the warts will disappear;
- effective mixture, which is prepared from garlic and lard. Spread it on a cloth, place on the wart and fix the bandage with a bandage. It is necessary to change the amount of garlic-deacon every day. The course of treatment lasts 4-5 days;
- it has been observed that if every day the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice, then it will start to decrease in size and disappear completely after about 10 days. Fresh mountain ash or tomato juice has a similar effect;
- powders from crushed cornflower seeds have a good result. They have to be done every day. You can also mix the powder with lard and get an ointment for removing warts.
Remember that if you have warts, alternative treatment should be agreed with your doctor or an experienced homeopath. Do not self-medicate, as it can lead to unexpected and sometimes very unpleasant consequences.
